Report Poor Street repairs
As you will see from the Focus that will hit your doormats in the next few weeks, I want to make sure utility companies don't leave a mess of our roads and footpaths for the tax payers to fix properly.
This will be a big issue in Riverdene where much of the work is being carried out and many of the paths are private and maintained by residents maintenance payments.
You can either email me or click on comments below. Note your email address will not be seen online. There may be a delay of 48hrs before your comment appears as I have to moderate them at the moment

A Thought
The government is to hold a referendum on changing the voting system used when it won the last election.
The Conservatives think this is the last act of a weak government.
The Conservatives want to retain the current system because it guarantees a strong government

A Thought
Around two weeks ago 20 economists wrote in a newspaper that the government needs to cut spending sooner than planned.
Last week 60 economists wrote saying we should delay cuts in spending or face damaging the recovery.
Isn't it great to have all this advice from knowledgeable economists. (None of whom saw the banking crisis coming or the credit crunch or the global recession or the bank bail out or the collapse of Iceland or Greece.........)

Full Council - Part 2
This years council budget could be summed up as "this budget doesn't contain anything for anyone."
The budget debate was overshadowed by events posted earlier. I voted against the budget and the Council plan because there was nothing in it. Fees and tax up a bit, services cut a bit. No big ideas.
Rumour has it that the Tory HQ instructed there Councils to do nothing controversial, I assume this was to avoid any embarrassment for the party before a General Election. I find it sad that a Council that should be run by the local people elected by the local electorate, is now being directed by unelected Tory spin doctors in London.
When budgets are announced, the proposer finishes by saying something along the lines of "This budget contains something for everyone".

Update on Festival Place Road Changes
We mentioned plans the Council had to make permanent the Christmas access/exit arrangements. I have now been told residents have until the 11th March to pass any comments on to the Council.
